Automatic updates

The AppImage includes built-in auto-updates — you'll always have the latest version without re-downloading. The .deb and .rpm packages need to be re-downloaded manually for new releases.

System requirements

InsertKit requires a fairly recent Linux distribution:

  • Ubuntu 22.04 or newer
  • Debian 12 (Bookworm) or newer
  • Fedora 36 or newer
  • openSUSE Tumbleweed or Leap 15.4+
  • Any distro with glibc 2.35+ and WebKitGTK 4.1

InsertKit uses WebKitGTK 4.1 for its interface, which is only available on distributions released from mid-2022 onward. If your distro is older than the versions listed above, InsertKit may not launch — check your distro's release date if you're unsure.
